Graveside Services for Mrs. Glenell Haynes Smith, age 78 of Ashland, will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Ashland at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Paul Luecke officiating.
Mrs. Smith passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 in Birmingham. She was born in Alexander City, Alabama and lived most of her life in Clay County. She was a wonderful gardener and also a member of the Church of God Worldwide Association.
She was survived by her husband of almost 35 years, David Smith of Ashland; son, James Michael Schoggins of Millerville; two daughters, Angela sexton of Irondale and Teresa Lynne Whitfield(Rodney) of Alabaster; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Geneva Claunch of Ashland; nephew, Jason Claunch of Guntersville; niece, Karen Claunch of Ashland and several extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Christine Haynes; a son, Joel Schoggins and a granddaughter, Ashley Lynne Godwin.
Her visitation will take place on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 7:00 until 8:00P.M.
