Mr. Glendon Wayne Willis of Arab, Alabama passed away peacefully in the early hours of Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the age of 76 years.
Mr. Willis was born in Cullman County, Alabama to the late Walter Lee Willis and Exie Ione Tillman Willis on October 16, 1943 and raised in Joppa, Alabama. Mr. Willis was a simple man and enjoyed staying busy working; he worked as carpenter in the construction industry. Mr. Glendon had an abundance of hobbies including; coaching and playing ball in his earlier years, fishing and most of all being with the ones he loved.
Mr. Willis will be forever remembered by his beloved wife of 56 years; Bonita Jean Goff Willis; son, Tony Willis (Tina); daughters, Tammy Hanes (Scott) and Shonda Riggins; sister, Joan McKinney (Tommy); special mother in law, Billie Goff; grandchildren, Justin Willis (Alex), Allison Willis, Miranda Hanes, Tyler Hanes and Lilly Raye Riggins; great grandchildren, Ann Marie, Samuel and Josiah Willis.
In addition to his parents; Mr. Willis is reunited with his brothers; A.J. Willis, Jr. Willis, Eulon Willis, Duke Willis, Bud Willis, Buck Willis and Pete Willis; sisters, Betty Garrison and Margaret Powell.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Rev. Deborah Moon, officiating. Interment to follow at the New Friendship Cemetery in Union Grove, Alabama
Pallbearers that will be escorting Mr. Willis to his final resting place will include: Justin Willis, Tyler Hanes, Frank Willis, Steve McKinney, Michael Tidmore and Lamar Tidmore.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Jason Willis and James Willis.
