Services to celebrate the life of Glenda Sue Purvis, 82, will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at McPeters Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Haney officiating. Burial will follow at Henry Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McPeters Funeral Home.
Sue passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born in Selmer, Tennessee on June 20, 1938 to the late Clinton Whitlow and Dorothy Mae Peak Rogers. She married the love of her life John W. Purvis on January 9, 1955. She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church. She enjoyed painting, woodwork, crafting and flowers especially lilies. Her children and grandchildren were her world.
Sue was preceded in by her parents; husband John W “Jack” Purvis; brothers James Rogers, Kenneth Earl Rogers and wife Freda; sister Frances Marie Smith and husband M.C.
She is survived by son Johnny Purvis and wife Cindy; daughters Jackie Crum and husband Rickey, Missy Wilbanks and husband James; brother in love Jimmy Purvis and wife Marie; grandchildren Michael Crum (Beth Ann), Tawana Woodruff (Jason), Courtney Bayless (Shane) Jamie Purvis, Emily Carmichael, Ethan Carmichael and Cole Wilbanks; great-grandchildren, Carlie Crum, Alex Herring, Wyatt Bayless, Hunter Woodruff, Weston Bayless, Jaci Woodruff, Jake Crum, Landon King; great great grandchild Easton Kirk and a host of family and friends.
