Funeral services for Mrs. Glenda Shourd, age 81, are scheduled for 2 PM, Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Scotts Hill Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Pafford Scotts Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Shourd passed away on Tuesday at her home in Scotts Hill. She was born September 24, 1940 in Frog Jump, Tennessee to the late Lee and Ester Riley Mayes. She worked as a Registered Nurse and a homemaker. She was a member of Scotts Hill Baptist Church for 46 years and enjoyed going on church building trips. She loved traveling with her husband, cooking meals on Sundays, and having her family over. She loved her family dearly. She was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Mayes and one sister, Jerri Ball. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Mr. Lonnie Shourd; her two sons, Kenny Shourd (Pearl) and Jeff Shourd (Autumn); her daughter, Karen Rogers (Trent); two brothers, Bobby Mayes (Shirley) and David Mayes; eight grandchildren, Daniel Shourd, Eli Plunk, Kayla Edgin, Audrey Shourd, Jacob Shourd, Tanner Rogers, Justin Shourd, Cami Rogers; and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 AM – 2 PM at Scotts Hill Baptist Church. Pafford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
