Glenda McMahon Tate, age 82, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, at her residence.
She was born August 24th, 1941 in Lewisburg, Tennessee, to the late Horace Lee and Ruth Fox McMahon. She was a retired banker for thirty eight years with Peoples and Union and two years with First Commerce Banks. She retired as vice president and comptroller and was a long time member of the Cornersville First Baptist Church served over 65 years as pianist and then organist. She loved to play golf and watch all of the Tennessee Volunteers sports.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Tate.
She is survived by a daughter, Jennie (Roger) Carroll of Lewisburg, brothers, Jody (Billie) McMahon of Cornersville, and Jimmy (Tracy) McMahon of Lewisburg, two grandchildren, Morgan Carroll (Derek) Griggs, and Grey Carroll, and three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 22nd, 2023, at 12:00 pm from the Cornersville First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Beechwood Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held at the church on Friday, September 22nd, 2023 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm and will continue on Friday, September 22nd, 2023 until the funeral hour.
