Glenda Gail Morton Torres, 73, from Iuka, died Monday, August 15, 2016, at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born on December 15, 1942 in Midway, Mississippi to Claude Eugene and Ophelia Mae Patterson Morton. She graduated from Holcut High School in 1960, then attended business school in Memphis, Tennessee. She held several positions as an executive secretary, most notably for the State of Tennessee’s Department of Education. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23, from 10am-2pm at Cutshall Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 3pm. Burial will be at the Springhill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Midway. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include one son, Michael Morton Torres of Marietta, Georgia; one step-daughter, Bethany Ann (Torres) Smith and husband Brian of Lagrange, Ohio; one sister, Nona Robertson and husband Carol of Forrest City, Arkansas and a host of nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Eugene and Ophelia Mae Patterson Morton of Jackson, Tennessee; her husband, Gene (Ignacio) Torres of Iuka, Mississippi and a brother, Derrell Morton of Iuka, Mississippi
