Mrs. Glenda Evette Boddie-Holland was born on October 13, 1969, to the late George Washington Boddie, Sr. and the late Clara Dell Summerhill-Boddie. She departed her earthly home for her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama.

She confessed her life to Christ at an early age and joined Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in Florence, Alabama, under the leadership of the late Reverend James Moore. She was a 1988 graduate of Bradshaw High School. Glenda was a homemaker, a loving and devoted mother to her son, whom she dedicated her life to his care and wellbeing. She was also a loving grandmother, sister, and aunt.

If you ever met Glenda, you were assured to be greeted with her immeasurable “contagious smile”.

She loved to cook, dance, skate, and listen to her music. Special times were coming to her sister, Debra house and going out to eat catfish and Chinese. Also, nothing made her happier than spending time with her son, grandchildren, and family.

Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Holland; twin grandchildren, Avaeh Grace Boddie and Asani Jameela Boddie; two sisters, Grace Boddie Majette and Queen Boddie Robinson; two brothers, Kenneth Boddie and George W. Boddie, Jr.

Those who will miss the joy and compassionate love and cherish her memories:

Her loving and devoted son, Damarcus Boddie (LaAsia); two grandsons, Aiden Jerome Boddie and Amari Malachi Boddie; one loving and devoted sister, Debra Jackson; one loving and devoted brother, David Boddie; loving devoted caregiver, LaKisha Winburn; two uncles, Harvey Summerhill, and Tom Summerhill; a special friend, Leamon Murphy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
