Glenda Curtis – Obituary

Glenda Curtis ascended to her heavenly home May 10, 2018. She was born to Ralph and Frances Bauer in Tennessee. She grew up in Andrews, South Carolina where she met and married the love of her life. She traveled the country with him for over 55 years. She touched many lives through her life’s journey.

She was blessed with many talents. She was an artist with material and created many masterpieces her family still enjoy. She made stained glass pictures, quilts, porcelain dolls, and treasures in many different mediums. She was a wonderful gardener and preserved the things she grew. She was a great cook and a wonderful hostess. She had a beautiful card and letter ministry that touched people around the world. Most importantly she was a child of God, and she blessed all those who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Frances Bauer; her oldest sister, Sally Southwood; and a son, David Allan Curtis.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Boyd Curtis Sr.; daughter and son-in-law, Ramona and Mark Goolsby; daughter, Fran Curtis; son and daughter-in-law, Boyd and Kristin Curtis; grandchildren, Amanda Schroeder, Sarah and Philip Mudd, Adam Gayner, Beth and Nick Spurlock, Cayla and Josh Taylor, Daniel and Jamie Curtis, Chris Curtis and Anna, and Lyndsey Curtis; great-grandchildren, Laura and Anthony Schroeder, Katie Mudd, Christine and Lillian Spurlock, Tre Biagioni, and Brighton King; sister, Mary Player and Ronnie; brothers, Jonathan Bauer and Rhonda; Ralph Bauer and Yvonne; also many nieces, nephews, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at Killen United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. The family request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Brazil or Guatemalan Missions through Killen United Methodist Church, 211 J.C. Mauldin Hwy. Killen, AL 35645
