Glenda Carolyn Maddox

On October 23, 2021 Glenda Carolyn Maddox departed this life to be eternally with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her husband of 54 years Butch Maddox was at her side.

Glenda was born in Bemis, Tennessee on April 2, 1937 to Jack Nicholson and Delsie King Nicholson. She grew up in the Bemis area and graduated in 1956 from J. B. Young School in their last graduating class. She met the true love of her life Butch Maddox on May 4, 1966 and they married on January 8, 1967 and had a wonderful 54 years of life together. Glenda trusted Jesus as her Lord and Savior on May 3, 1971 and she and Butch served at Southside Baptist Church for 35 years and then God moved them to First Baptist Church Bemis in January 2006 where they have been blessed beyond measure. Glenda was a homemaker in the truest sense of the word loving and caring for her husband and children. She will be missed beyond measure.

Glenda is survived by her husband, Charles W. (Butch) Maddox, her daughter Cindy Harris (Wes), her son Mark Maddox (Heather) and grandchildren Lydia, Nathan and Caleb Maddox; Roland and Emily Harris.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Delsie Nicholson and her sister Reba Murchison.

Visitation will be Tuesday October 26, 2021 at First Baptist Church Bemis from 12:00 to 2:00 with service following at 2:00. Bro John Norvell will bring the message, Bro. John R. Gaters will be in charge of the music and Butch Maddox will give the eulogy.

Pallbearers to serve will be Clint Murchison, David Murchison, Jimmy Murchison, Larry Fesmire, Russ Warren, and Darrell Berkley.

Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Bemis or the charity of the donors choice.
