Glenda Ann Milton Slayton, age 74, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021, at the Bells Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 1:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN, with Bro. Donald Lance officiating. Burial will follow at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home Chapel. Glenda was born on June 9, 1947, in Steele, Missouri, to Virlon and Louise Milton. She was a homemaker. She loved life and loved to laugh. She was one who was very friendly and never met a stranger. She loved reading and found great joy and pleasure in writing poetry. She will be remembered for her beautiful handwriting ability. She was known as an amazing cook and loved preparing great meals for her family throughout the years. Family was important to her, and she was richly blessed by her children and grandchildren. She was a Christian lady and loved her Lord Jesus and the church with all her heart. She is survived by two sons, Jeff Bailey (Christy) of Brownsville.TN and Timothy Slayton (Shanna) of Jackson, TN; one daughter, Rebeklah Causey of Gadsden, AL, and she was Gran-Gran to six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virlon and Louise Pike Milton; four brothers, Robert L. Milton, Charles Milton, A.D. Milton, Glen Milton; three sisters, June Burse, Virginia Haycraft, and Josephine Eldonman. Pallbearers for the service will be Jeff Bailey, Timothy Slayton, Coker Causey, Leigha Bailey, Jeremy Causey, Sr, and Jeff Young. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jeremy Hallin “Hal” Causey, Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
