Graveside Services for Mrs. Glen T. Waits, age 92 of Lineville, will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. at Lineville City Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Colquett officiating.

Mrs. Waits passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024 at the Lineville Health and Rehab. Mrs. Waits was born and raised in Clay County and was a graduate of Lineville High School. Out of High School, she began her work career as a bookkeeper, working for Sears, Turner Dairy in Oxford, and the Southern Tea Company in Marietta, Georgia. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Billy and even settled in Arizona for some time. She was proud of her job as the Director of Finance for Navajo County in Holbrook, Arizona. Mrs. Waits also worked for Regional Medical Center in Oxford in the business office, as well as Knights Building Supply, Lineville Building Supply, and lastly with Ace Storage. Mrs. Waits enjoyed watching Auburn Football, keeping her house clean and tidy, and tending to her flower beds and gardens. A Christian Woman, She had a loving and enduring relationship with the Lord, often listening to Gospel music while cleaning, reading her Bible before Bedtime, and was always faithfully serving Him. As a member of Lineville Baptist Church, she helped in the kitchen, and even helped deliver food with her church members to those who were not able to travel to church. Mrs. Waits was known to be a tad sassy, yet very loving and compassionate to others. She had a heart of Gold, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Waits is survived by her daughter, Patricia Cobb (Craig S. Boddy); her granddaughter, Alishia Todd (Blake); great-granddaughter, Hadley Todd, all of Lineville; her nephews: Karl Waits (Phyllis) and Dickie Champion (Cathy); her great-nieces and nephews: Emily Masten, Justin Waits, Shane Champion, and Nick Champion; plus several great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Milton T. Taylor and Cassie M. Mason Taylor; her husband, Billy S. Waits; and one sister, Catherine Jeanette Champion.

Active Pallbearers will be Karl Waits, Justin Waits, Shane Champion, Nick Champion, James Lindsey, Christian Higgins, and John Paul Hamlin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Blake T. Todd and Craig S. Boddy.

Mrs. Wait’s will have a visitation on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville beginning at 10:30 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M.
