 Glen Leon NewmanA Celebration of Life service for Glen Leon Newman, 72 of Walnut, MS, will be Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 3:00 P M at County Line Baptist Church with interment to follow at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Bobbie Brandon will officiate the service with Bro. David Shepherd delivering the eulogy. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 5:00 P M to 9:00 P M and Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 1:00 P M until service time at County Line Baptist Church. Mr. Newman passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Cornerstone Health and Rehab. He was born May 25, 1946 in Ripley, MS to Arthur Newman and Clara Hicks Newman. He was a retired factory worker for World Color. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Old Paths Baptist Church in Ashland, MS. Glen is survived by his son, Brent Newman and wife Tonya of Walnut, MS; his daughters, Tina Cooper and husband Keith of Walnut, MS and Telina Ketchum and husband Jeff of Walnut, MS; 5 grandchildren, Austen Cooper, Eli Cooper, Ali Newman, Anzley Newman and Harleigh Newman; his sisters, Vila Null of Ripley, MS and Kay Yancey of Ripley, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, caregivers, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Linda Wilbanks Newman; 4 grandchildren, Chloe Newman, Aybree Newman, Aubrey Newman and Brooklyn Newman; his father, Arthur Newman; his mother, Clara Hicks Newman; his brothers, James Newman, Olen Newman and A.B. Newman; and his sister, Ree Hall. Pallbearers will be Daniel Wilbanks, Donald Yancey, Chase Yancey, Travis Yancey, Austen Cooper and Bryan Clayton. Honorary pallbearers will be R.L. Mathis, Leland Mills, Dwayne Pannell and Roger Dale Ross. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Glen Leon Newman.
