Glen Doyle Damron, age 66 of Decherd, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021. He was born March 27, 1954, in Fayetteville to the late Bill and Joyce Damron. Glen was a gentle and loving son, brother, husband, father, and Papa. He worked most of his life as a truck driver and retired from Frito-Lay. Glen was a very talented musician and singer. He enjoyed playing and singing southern gospel and blue grass with his friends and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean (Morris) Damron. Glen is survived by his son, Ben (Karen) Damron of Staten Island, NY; grandchildren Jasmine Damron of Coalmont and Alisa Damron of Winchester; sister Donna Joleen (Roger) Oliver of Jefferson, GA; and nephew Joey (Laura) Morris of Winder, GA. Visitation will be Friday, March 26, 2021 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Gifford and Pastor Kelly May officiating. Interment will follow in Elora Cemetery with friends and family serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Camp Rain.
