Mrs. Gladys Olean Warhurst, 86, of Russellville, Alabama, passed away January 4, 2020, at Burns Nursing Home. Born in Colbert County, Alabama, she had lived in the Russellville area all of her life. A homemaker, she was retired from the Lee Company and was a member of Russellville Church of Christ.
Visitation with family and friends will be Monday, January 6, 2020, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Neil Rogers officiating and burial to follow in Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville. Pallbearers include Danny Smith, Charles Ray Smelser, Russell Smelser, Floyd Willingham, Jr., Wade Willingham, and Jeff Willingham.
Mrs. Warhurst is survived by her daughters Sherry Smith and husband Pete, and Rena Smith; sisters: Lurlie Willingham and husband Floyd, Elsie Smelser, and Mary Houston; grandchildren: Ryan Smith and wife Lindsey and Erin Grissom and husband Jonathan; great grandchildren: Sylvie Jane Smith, Heidi Bell Smith, and Kerby Elizabeth Grissom; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding her in death were her parents Oscar and Ida Moore Smelser; father of her children, Wilmer “Shorty” Warhurst; son-in-law Mark Smith; brothers, Doc Smelser and Clifton Smelser; and sisters: Florine Smelser, Jimmie Lou Barnhill, Syble Jarvis, and Vita Mae Smelser.
Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
