Gladys Louise Henderson, 96, of Fort Payne, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024. She was born August 5, 1927 in Georgia to the late Julian Green and Ruth Hayes Green. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Mrs. Henderson loved people and they loved her. When she was able to travel, she was always ready to go anytime her family mentioned the word. She was a loving Mother and a beloved Grandmother.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 27th at Wilson Funeral Home with burial following in Walkers Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. hour of service.
She is survived by her children Christine Ashley (Jack), Wayne Henderson (Wanda), and Debbie Daniel (Colon); grandchildren Phil Ashley (Tammy), Stacey Ashley, Craig Ashley (Shelly), Tony Henderson, Jeremy Henderson, Trecia Daniel, Kim Wilburn (Shawn), and Brandon Daniel (Nicole); 17 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Henderson and her siblings Virginia Twilley, Doris Twilley, Elsie Twilley, Charlotte Hurtt, Roy Green, Robert Green, and Fred Green and great-grandson Elijah.
