Gladys Earl Taylor Walters, age 79 of Jackson, passed away on November 27, 2022.
She was born on March 26, 1943 in Parsons, TN to the late Delmar and Oma Tubbs Taylor. Gladys loved her family. She loved spending time with her family and served as confidant to many. She would pray for her family 3-4 times daily. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Gladys was a member of Victory Worship Center in Jackson.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her sons, Robert Walters, Jr., Michael Gower, Sr., and Ronald Walters; grandchildren, Konner Walters, Joshua Walters, and Timothy Hornsby.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert C. “Bobby” Walters, Sr.; her children, Larry Gower (Michele) and Rita Hornsby (Rockie); fifteen grandchildren and thirty four great grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Rosey.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Louis Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
