Gladys “Dollie” McKennon Green, age 80, returned to her Savior on November 23, 2020. She was born on August 07, 1940, in Mount Pleasant, to her loving parents, Mack McKennon and Azzie Kennedy McKennon.
Dollie worked as a beautician for many years at JCPenney’s and Time’s Beauty Salon. She enjoyed playing softball, fishing, and dancing. She cherished the countless hours she spent working on the farm with her family. She worshipped at Ebenezer Community Church.
She is survived by her daughters: Vicky Hall (Perry) of Mount Pleasant, Roxane Small (Mike) of Michigan; son: Morris Green (Dana) Mount Pleasant; brothers: Douglas McKennon (Ross) and Bruce McKennon (Nikki); sister: Joyce Caruk; granddaughters: Kawanna Colvett (Jack), Stephanie Lynn (Taylor), Ashley Frech (John), Emily Small, Caitlyn Smartt (Jason); grandsons: Robert Hall (Kayla), Mike Small Jr. (Heather), Dylan Green (Rachel); 15 great-grandchildren; and 8 “stolen” great grandkids.
Dollie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Sherrell M. Green; sister: Caramack Cothran; brothers: Bobby Jene McKennon and Jimmy McKennon.
Her family will be receiving family and friends on Monday November 30, 2020 from 4-8p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Funeral service for Dollie will be held on Tuesday, December 1st at 1 p.m. with Dickey Lindsey, David Kersey and Randy Kersey officiating, visitation will be held one hour prior to service. She will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Garden following the service.
Pallbearers will be: Mike Small Jr, Dylan Green, Robert Hall, Jason Smartt, Elston Bridges, Jack Colvett, and Taylor Lynn
Honorary pallbearers: Her special friend, Owen Moore and numerous nieces and nephews.
