Gladys Anderson Underwood, age 97, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at Stones River Hospital. She was a native of Washington Co., GA.
Survivors include her 3 children, Clayton Thomas (Delores) Underwood, Harold (Dorcas) Underwood, & Patricia (Lonny) Hull, all of Woodbury; Sister, Ethel Scarborough of Woodbury; 10 grandchildren, Richard Thomas Underwood, Vicky Lynn Stone, Jeffery Clayton Underwood, Tammy Klingler, Tim Underwood, Allison Jakoby, Debra Vann, Donna Lucas, Dawn Vann, & Patrick Chistensen. Also survivng are 13 Great Grandchildren & 7 Great Great Grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Underwood was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Thomas Anderson & Eleren Hilson Anderson; husband, Clayton A. Underwood; son, Richard Lewis Underwood; daughter-in-law, Joann Bryant Underwood; and siblings, Eva Lee Brantley & Curtis Anderson.
She was a housewife and a member of the Nazarene Church, but attended Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years. She loved reading especially her Bible and loved to quilt.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 2 PM at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Underwood, Rev. Rick McFerrin, Rev. Ted Underwood, Rev. Lamar Brantley, & Rev. Jason Underwood officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 8 PM Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the funeral home.
