Ginger Rae Reaves Strange, 58, Muscle Shoals, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, in the arms of her husband David, with her children on either side. A private family memorial will be held on Thursday, August 15.
Ginger grew up in Muscle Shoals and graduated from Muscle Shoals High School (1985). Important to many: “Daddy’s girl” to her dad, “angel” to her mom, “the Love of my Life and My Best Friend” to David, “Mommy” to her children, and “Gigi” to her grandchildren.
As a young woman, Ginger gave her heart to God, receiving His unconditional love for her. She imitated Christ’s kind and gracious spirit in the way she compassionately loved, accepted, and served others, and in the way she loved and welcomed little children into her presence.
Ginger spent her years on earth as a caregiver to her husband, children, parents, and others in need. She deeply loved David and could be seen throughout her years reaching out to hold his hand, leaning over to give him “sugar,” or resting her head on his shoulder. Ginger was blessed with five grandchildren, who became her world and the light of her life. Ginger was known by many as a sweet soul, who always had a smile and hug to give.
Ginger was preceded in death by her father, Grover Avon Reaves; mother, Priscilla Brooks Reaves; and grandparents, Grover Lloyd Reaves, Ruby Lillian Underwood Reaves, Raymond Howard Brooks, and Marian Virginia Stevenson Brooks.
She is survived by her husband, David Bradley Strange; children, Dustin Avon Strange (Hope Stanfield Strange) and Hannah Strange Burleson (Matthew Chandler Burleson); brother, Steven Avon Reaves; and grandchildren, Colton James Pepper, Anakyn Gene Strange, Manna Reese Burleson, Asher Brooks Burleson, and Asa Hayes Burleson.
