Gilford Dye Walker, age 79 of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral services will be conducted at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church in Joelton at 2:30PM on Sunday, March 6th, with Bro. Corey Minter & Bro. Tom Malone officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery with Frank Kilgore, Jim Kilgore, Keith Kilgore, Dell Kilgore, Jason Kilgore, Glen Kilgore, Donnie Kilgore, Jeff Kilgore, and Marc Majors serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are the Adult Sanctuary Class at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View on Saturday, March 5th from 2:00PM until 8:00PM and again on Sunday at the church from 12:30PM until the hour of service at 2:30PM.
Mr. Walker was born on October 21, 1942 in the Sandy Springs community of Robertson County, Tennessee to the late Marvin & Nannie Balthrop Walker. He was retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He enjoyed raising tobacco & hay, and restoring antique tractors. He loved his family dearly and was a friend to all. Mr. Walker was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years and served as a Deacon for over 40 years.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Gaynell Kilgore Walker; daughters, Marcia (Edwin) Hogan and Marla (Shawn) Clemments; and grandchildren, Daniel (Ashley) Clemments, Caroline Clemments, Landon (Lauren) Hogan, and Jackson Hogan.
