Gilberta-Mccasland-1468079024Gilberta Phillips McCasland was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on May 11, 1923 the daughter of the late Gilbert and Audrey Beckham Phillips.

On December 20, 1941 she was united in marriage to Burgess F. McCasland, who preceded his wife in death on April 10, 2009.

Mrs. McCasland retired from Angelica after 40 years, where she worked as a sewing machine operator. She also had worked for Dillon Manufacturing Company. Mrs. McCasland was a member of Savannah Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting and doing alterations.

Mrs. McCasland departed this life on July 9, 2016 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 93 years, 1 month and 28 days.

She is survived by her children, Sheryl Wolfe of Counce, Tennessee and Kerry McCasland and his wife Pam of Crump, Tennessee.

six grandchildren, Kent Gilkey, Dana Spindler, Shannon Shaw, Allison Climer, Jessica Shilliday and Jonathan McCasland

eight great grandchildren, Will Shaw, Jacob Shaw, Jessica Stoughton, Megan Stoughton, Austin Spindler, Hayden Climer, Adley Shilliday and Abbey McCasland

three great great grandchildren, Aaliyah Bumphus, Alexa Bumphus and Lorelei Shaw

one sister, Loraine Lawhorn of Collierville, Tennessee

Mrs. McCasland is also survived by her best friend, Betty Franks of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Inez Gilkey, two sisters, Winell Miller and Bernita Phillips and two brothers, Billy Phillips and Lloyd Phillips.
