Mr. Gilbert Timothy Lindgren Mr. Gilbert Timothy “Tim” Lindgren, age 79, of Madison, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at the Elk River Nursing and Rehab Center in Ardmore, Tennessee.
Mr. Lindgren was born in Gustine, California to Gilbert and Ruth Helen Lindgren (Bell) on October 29, 1943. He joined the United States Army in 1967 and reached the rank of Sergeant. He served his country for 13 years, spending time in Vietnam and in Germany. While in Saigon, Vietnam, Tim came in contact with the Agent Orange chemicals, and it is thought to have caused many of his health issues. He and his wife Barbara moved to Madison, Alabama in 2003 and loved living in this area. He was described as easygoing, a good man, liked everyone, and everyone liked him. He was a Christian and he loved the Lord. Tim liked talking sports but loved to play golf and square dancing. Tim was also extremely fond of his dogs, of which he had several, but his retriever, Peaches, was special.
Family surviving Mr. Lindgren include his wife; Barbara Brooks Lindgren; daughters, Christina Lindgren Grant (Gene), Julie Boyett (Scott), Patricia Martinette (Greg); son, Jeffrey Lindgren (Heather); grandchildren, Lacey Lindgren, Ashlei Dunlap, Robbie Grant, Lee Rose, Devin Rose, and Halee Walden; and 8 great grandchildren.
Mr. Lindgren is at last reunited with his parents, Gilbert and Ruth Helen Lindgren (Bell) and his sister, Doris Littlewood.
The family wants to acknowledge and thank the staff of the Elk River Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility of Ardmore, Tennessee. Their care, kindness, and attention to their loved one is deeply appreciated.
A military honor graveside service will be held at Arab Memorial Cemetery Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.
