Gilbert Russell Cleveland, Sr., 86, of Sheffield, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024. Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A memorial service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Hill Charmichael officiating.
Gil was a member of the First Methodist Church. He served in education for thirty-three years as a teacher, coach, and administrator, finishing his career as principal at Colbert Heights.
Gil is survived by his wife, Donna Cleveland; son, Gilbert Russell Cleveland, Jr.; step-sons, Brad and Andrew Bernard; brothers, Gene Cleveland and Jon Cleveland; sister, Carolyn Chandler; grandchildren, Sarah Beth Cleveland and Hudson Cleveland; eight step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
