Gilbert L. Prince, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The service will follow at 3 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Shoals Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Gilbert was born in Rogersville, AL., to the late Vernon and Lola Thompson Prince. He was a faithful child of God. He served in ministry in various Southern Baptist works, including adjunct teaching for Samford University in religious courses, and was a member of York Bluff Baptist Church. Gilbert was a Sergeant First Class (retired) with twenty-one years of service in the United States Army.
Gilbert was a devoted husband and a caring father, father-in-law and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Gilbert was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Lorice; and brother, Charles.
Survivors include his son, Steven Prince and wife Cameron; grandsons, Christian Prince and wife Becca, and Alec Prince; and great grandson Keaton Prince; brother, Fred Prince and wife Faye; and sister Evelyn Dupier and husband Chuck.
