Gilbert Darby Hardy, 79 of Athens, passed away on Friday, February 4th, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Hardy was born on March 20th, 1942, to Buford Herman and Louise Holmes Hardy.
Mr. Hardy is survived by sons Stanley Hardy and Steven Hardy; daughters Sonja Scott (Robert) and Sharla Hardy; sisters Joyce Harbin and Sherry Hardy; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife of over 53 years Shirley Hardy; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Funeral services for Mr. Hardy will be Wednesday, February 9th, 2022, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Kasey Harbin officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 8th, from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hardy Cemetery.
