Gertrude A. Kindberg, 94, died December 16, 2020. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria K. Woody; nephew; Wolfgang Dieter Richter and wife, Dr. Gisela Nordhorn-Richter; niece, Sybille Richter-Kirst and their families.
She was born in Berlin, Germany to Hermann and Helene Gottfried. Gertrude attended Prague University and moved to Darmstadt, Germany at the end of WW2 where she met her husband, Oscar F. Kindberg who is deceased. She worked in the dental field for 30 years and following her retirement, liked to travel with friends to Europe, Hawaii, and numerous states in the United States. In her later years, she enjoyed gardening, and playing cards and bunco with her neighborhood friends.
She was a long-time member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, council member, circle leader and long-term member of the Altar Guild.
Due to COVID, a small graveside service will be held and her ashes will be buried next to her husband in Maple Hill Cemetery. Pastor Gary Soop will be officiating.
