Gerry Lynn Whitehead, 71, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024, at his home in Union County. He attended school at Ecru and joined the United States Marine Corp in 1969. A certified volunteer fireman through the state of Mississippi, he served as assistant chief in Terry, MS and was a member of Ecru Volunteer Fire Department after moving back to Pontotoc. He was a member of Selah Baptist Church and enjoyed collecting trains and old money.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Foreman Whitehead; and his children, Gerry Allan Whitehead (Melissa), Russell Graham (Regina), and Jessica Weeks (Jacob).
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and one brother.
Services will be Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 2PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Cooper Swords officiating. Visitation will begin at 12PM and continue to service time. Burial will follow in Ecru Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Foreman, Jacob Weeks, Russell Graham, Terry McCain, Phillip Williams, Bradley Forman, and Miles Whitehead.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mandy and Zoe Andrews.
