Gerard Phillip “Bear” Shar, 55, of Huntsville, passed away Monday. Mr. Shar worked for the City of Huntsville for seven years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Nancy Joan Shar.
His love for family, animals, and his hard work ethic made him the wonderful father, husband and provider that he was.
Survivors include his wife, Lori G. Shar; children, Sandra Shar and husband, Scott Stewart, and Frank Shar; stepchildren, Farid Shar, Fouad Shar, Heather Gargis, Seth Gargis, Jacob Gargis, Faith Gargis and Paul Gargis; grandchildren, Farrah Shar and Alexandra Stewart; three brothers; five sisters; and 22 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow in the chapel. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens. (www.laughlinservice.com)
