Geraldine B. Reese – Obituary

geraldineGeraldine B. Reese age 87 of Muscle Shoals (formerly of Lutts, TN) passed away on Monday September 7, 2015. Visitation will be held on Thursday September 10, 2015 from 12 Noon until 2:00 P.M. at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence with service to follow in the chapel at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Belinda Rives officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Reese Jr. Her sons, Robert Reese III, Brian Reese and Terry Reese. And her parents, Ivy Finn and Lorene House Beckham.

Geraldine is survived by her son Kevin Reese and his wife Lynn. Two sisters, Sue Irons and Laura Jo Beckham. Seven grandchildren, Amanda Reese James, Amy Reese Beard (Daniel), Jerrod Reese (Tori), Kristen Reese Dollar, Heath Reese, John Reese and Jamie Reese. Five great-grandchildren, Matthew Dyer, Brian Dyer, Grace Beard, Axel Dollar and Gage Dollar. Two nieces, Susan Irons Templet and Ginger Irons Jones.

She was a lifelong Christian and member of Edgemont United Methodist Church of Florence. A graduate of Collinwood High School and Union University. She was a volunteer retiree TVA water safety program and the garden program. A longtime member of the Sweet Adelines. She loved to work at the exhibit hall and office at the North Alabama State Fair, to attend the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration in Shelbyville, to go to the beach and collect sea shells and to collect antique glassware.

Pallbearers will be Jerrod Reese, Heath Reese, John Reese, Daniel Beard, Ian Jones, Cameron Olive and Jimmy Olive.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Karr and the office staff, Helen Keller Hospice and a very special thanks to hospice nurse Ann Massey, Johanna Overstreet and Richard Parker (Hospice Chaplin).
