Funeral services for Mr. Gerald Wood, age 71, are scheduled for 3 PM, Sunday, June 12, 2016 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Henderson County Memory Gardens. Mr. Wood passed away early Friday in Lexington. He was born July 6, 1944 in Henderson County to the late Ernest Edward and Ruth Duke Wood. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1962 and was a retired purchasing manager at Volvo, a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington, and loved photography, old country music, and Facebook. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Marsha Lynn Pratt Wood and one sister, Judy Washburn. Survivors include his three children, Michael (Kristy) Wood, Marty (Amanda) Wood, and Misty Irwin; his brother, Jeff (Tonjua) Wood; three sisters, Becky Tribble, Jean Ann Davies (Gene) Barnes, and Valerie (David) Rhodes; six grandchildren, Dylan Wood, Cameron Wood, Chance Kelley, Lynnlee Irwin, Keaton Wood, and Carter Wood; and his brother-in-law, Stenson Washburn. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11:30 AM until time of service at 3 PM.
