Gerald R. Zuelsdorf, 83, Florence, AL, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, November 17, 11 am, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 630 N. Poplar St., Florence, AL, 35631.
Jerry was born in Horicon, WI – graduate, Horicon HS, class of 1947.  Graduated UW-Whitewater, Bachelor of Education, double major Biology & Physics; Master of Science, Biology.  Member of Phi Chi Epsilon.  He was an officer in the US Marine Corp. – duty in Japan and Korea.
He married Arleen in 1953.  In 1955, he began his career as a high school science teacher, coach, Athletic Director, Administrator.  Retired in 1984.
After retirement, Jerry and Arleen spent years in Destin, FL until relocating to Florence in 2004.  He enjoyed serving his church, fishing, gardening, football and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Arleen; son, John (Debra); daughter, Jane (Malcolm); grandchildren, Amy, Emily, Dalton; sister, Bette Beall; sister-in-law, Delores Mellenthin.
The family thanks Pastor Doroh and the friends who were present at the time of his passing.  Also, gratitude to ECM-CTRU staff, Dr. Holder, Dr. Pons.
