Gerald Nelson Hooper, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and Navy veteran, passed away on September 13, 2024, at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife, Jan, and their four daughters: Debbie Wood, Lisa McCrary, Michele McMillan, and Catherine Hooper. He leaves behind two granddaughters, three grandsons, and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Decatur, AL. Shelton Funeral Home of Decatur is assisting the family during this time. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of the Valley for the care provided to Mr. Hooper.
