Gerald Lovell, 84, of Lester, passed away Sunday, June 16th, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Gerald was born on December 30th, 1939, to Dempsey and Antate (Wallace) Lovell.
Mr. Lovell is survived by his son Joseph Lovell; daughters Mandy Wilson (Marty) and Callie Oppman (Brad); grandchildren Rachel Bush (Randy), Emily Kate Hardiman (Patrick), Sally Childers (Nathan), Sara Daniel (Nick), Alex Oppman (Maddie), Andrew Oppman, William Lovell (Payton); twelve great-grandchildren; brother Larry Lovell (Debbie); and sisters Dimple Barlow (Gerald), Faye Pugh, and Donna Cancel (Ivan).
He is preceded in death by his parents Dempsey and Antate Lovell; wife Judy Butler Lovell; brothers Jack Lovell and Billy Lovell; and sisters Corrine Chambers and Joyce Malone.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Jamie Butler officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 19th, from 5:00 to 6:50 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at Butler Cemetery, Thursday, June 20th, at 10:00 a.m.
Mr. Lovell sold mutual savings insurance for seventeen years and worked twenty-one years at Steelcase. He loved Alabama football, playing the harmonica, and his dog, Prince. He was a member of Northside Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Affinity Hospice.
