Gerald Lee Powell, Sr., 74, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at his home in Thaxton, MS. He was a jack of all trades; his favorite skill was auto mechanics. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting clocks and working on them. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and gardening.
Survivors include his two children, Gerald Powell, Jr. and Linda M. Sweet; and his three grandchildren, Casey Powell, Layla Sweet, and Malcolm Sweet, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Powell; his mother, Violet Gay Powell; four brothers; three sisters; and his wife, Sherry Powell.
No public service will be held.
