Gerald “Jerry” Roy Geho, 76, of Lawrenceburg, TN made his way Home with Jesus on Monday October 28, 2024.
Bro. Jerry, as he was known by so many, had a charismatic heart and an unending love for people and their salvation.
No one could tell a story, preach a sermon, or pull a practical joke like him. If you have ever been a recipient of any of those three, you understand fully.
From his early beginnings in Wellsburg, WV, he was an adventurous soul, creative character, and an entrepreneur at heart. His ideas were never-ending. He kept his parents and siblings on their toes and on their knees in prayers. Those prayers eventually led him to answer the call to ministry in Nashville where he met the love of his life, Bev. She was patient, calm, and quiet- opposites attract. Together they built a life that blessed so many. His wife and daughters never knew who would be sitting at the dinner table with them each night. Bro. Jerry lived out John 21:15-17. He fed the lambs and sheep as Jesus commanded Peter. He helped build community outreach especially to feed, clothe, and shelter the least of these on earth. He spent many years as a chaplain for Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol comforting people and law enforcement officers in their darkest moments. He wrote with passion of community happenings, theatre performances, and Lawrence County School System for the Democrat-Union Newspaper.
He led many to salvation, baptized, married, and grieved losses with countless people. He was a pastor for several churches in many states. God’s plan finally brought him to Lawrenceburg, the place Jerry would call home. God surrounded him with prayer warriors of the faith to guide and work alongside him in ministry. He lived out God’s vision for the people of this community. Throughout all of his years, he stayed humble and never felt he deserved recognition for any of it. His work for the Lord was his priority. He and Bev instilled this value in their three daughters. Jerry’s family and salvation were his greatest blessings and joy.
He was preceded in death by his amazing parents, Blair and Susan Yonko Geho, his intelligent brother-in-law, Gilbert E. Dwyer, and his compassionate sister-in-law, Marjorie Cooper Geho.
His legacy continues with his bride Beverly Pratt Geho of Lawrenceburg, TN. His three favorite daughters, Alithia (Michael) Davis of Bandung, Indonesia, Tabitha (Chris) Steadman of Lawrenceburg, TN, Jerrica (Joey) Rhoton of Bethpage, TN. His extra son, Derrick (Mary Beth) Pardon of Lawrenceburg, TN. His stellar grandchildren-Ethan, Blair, and Sawyer Steadman of Lawrenceburg, TN, RyAnne, Elliana, Kaybrietta, Lissie Joy Davis of Bandung, Indonesia, and Elise, Iris, and Collis Rhoton of Bethpage, TN and Alton and Jackson Pardon of Lawrenceburg, TN. His older and wiser siblings Dr. Walter Blair Geho of Chagrin Falls, Ohio and Carol Geho Dwyer of Wheeling, West Virginia. He was the hilarious uncle to many special nieces and nephews and the favorite cousin to many. He was the exchange grandpa to nine foreign sons and spread God’s love around the world. His friends, Frank DeFede and Danny Reasner, and his precious fur friends he rescued and loved through the years.
Jerry Geho, in his homegoing, prays he will see you there and wants everyone to remember that the Lord loves you and so does he.
