Gerald “Jerry” Paul Carpenter

Mr. Gerald “Jerry” Paul Carpenter, age 80, a resident of Lynnville, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

 

The family will celebrate his life with services at a later date in Ohio. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Jerry was born on October 20, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio and was the son of the late Chalmers Carpenter and the late Margaret Leitner Carpenter. He served four years in the United States Marine Corps and worked forty years for Johns-Manville before retiring in 2002. After retirement, he moved from Swanton, Ohio to Lynnville, Tennessee, where he has resided for the past sixteen years. Jerry enjoyed fishing, making bird houses, and in his younger years, often loved riding motorcycles. He had a special place in his heart for animals, taking in many stray dogs and cats over the years. He also raised horses and was a pigeon keeper. Jerry was loved by many and will be missed by those who knew him.

 

He is survived by his children, David (Arcie) Carpenter of Puyallup, WA, Bonnie Carpenter of Bay Village, OH, Brenda Carpenter of Ann Arbor, MI, and Rachele Jeakle (Chris Breidenbaugh) of Waterville, OH, and grandchildren, Christian, Leticia, August, Brianna, Nick, Katherine, Adria, Ella, and Annah.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Carpenter, brothers, Richard, Gene, and Donald Carpenter, and sister, Joyce Carpenter.
