Gerald Gilbert Gullion – Obituary

Gerald Gilbert Gullion, 82 of Arab Alabama, died Tuesday July19, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Gullion was born March 2, 1934 in Marshall County Alabama to L.D. Gullion and Lois Leak Gullion. He worked for Continental Grain until his retirement. He was a member of the Alabama Army National Guard. He enjoyed quail hunting, gardening, Alabama Football, spending time with his grandson’s, crappie fishing and bird watching. The evening was his favorite part of the day, he loved star gazing.
He was a member of Old Brashiers Chapel United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Nellie Smith Gullion; daughter and son-in-law: Sherry Gullion and Steve Atchley; grandchildren: Kevin Atchley and Benjamin Atchley; brothers and sisters-in-law: Thomas and Carolyn Gullion, Wendell Gullion and Jimmy and Judy Gullion; sisters and brothers-in-law: Marzee Gullion Shetterly, Rachel Gullion and Ned Hoopes. He was preceded in death by his parents: L.D. and Lois Gullion.
Funeral service will be 6:00 p.m. Friday July 22, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Larry Conley and Sherry Gullion Atchley and Randy L. Blakely, officiating. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Steve Atchley, Kevin Atchley, Benjamin Atchley, Danny Leak, Jeremy King and Jeff Conley.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Friday July 22, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
