Gerald Ellis Herrin, 57, of Raleigh, NC passed away to be with our Lord on December 28, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, AL after sustaining injuries from an accident. Jerry was born on February 1, 1967, in Jacksonville, IL, to Ellis and Sharon (Combs) Herrin.
He is survived by the love of his life, Ana Herrin, and their beloved daughters, Anais and Alexis Herrin. He is also survived by his dad, Ellis Herrin of Jacksonville, IL, his sister, Lisa Herrin of Springfield, IL, and his niece, Courtney Koopman of Highland, IL. He was preceded in death by his mom, Sharon Herrin, and his brother, Jimmy Herrin.
Jerry was a hard worker his entire life. He loved the company he proudly worked for 40 years for: Walmart. He was an inspiring leader to many. He was a truly beautiful, humble soul and had a strong desire to help others. He always had a smile on his face. He was a man of faith, and his joy in life rooted from his family. He was, and always will be, his girls’ biggest role model.
He loved the beach, and in his free time he would enjoy being with his family, riding his Harley motorcycle, cruising on his roller skates, or grilling for his girls. One thing he loved the most was chasing the sunrise, then looking for the best cup of coffee in town. He was a ray of sunshine, and his happiness, positive attitude, and laughter was infectious. He will be missed more than words could ever describe.
Jerry was a proud member of the Duke Children’s National Leadership Council. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dukes Children’s Miracle Network Hospital
