Gerald Dennis “Hambone” Ragland, age 62, passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016. His memorial service will be today at noon at Friendship Community Church with Frankie Sheats and Cassandra Weakly officiating.
“Hambone” was a native of Lauderdale County and was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Simpson Ragland.
He was a landscaper for Tommy Bracatto, Jim Pride, Ben Gardner, and David and Carol Ann Simonds.
He is survived by his sons, Derrick Simpson (Sabrina) and Dereus Qualls; daughter, Denise Robinson (George Priest); brothers, Alex Ragland (Cindy), Sam Ragland, and Thomas Ragland; sister, Anette Beasley; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Hambone’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all his devoted friends.
