Gera Brown Works, 89, died Saturday, November 10, 2018 at NMMC in Tupelo, MS. She was born September 5, 1929 in Marion County, AL. She was a master seamstress and had crocheted hundreds of crosses and children’s caps for the patients at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She was a member of Liberty Church of Christ and loved her church family and going on trips with Liberty Lights. For years, she donated her time and money to St. Jude.
Services will be Tuesday, November 13, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with David Conley officiating. Burial will be in Pearce’s Chapel Cemetery, Smithville, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her two sons, Jim and Mike Works and her parents, Marvin Brown and Artie Ballard Brown.
Pallbearers will be Scottie Ryan, Glen Harrison, Chris Collier, Tommy Moody, Jack McKinney and Harold Oswalt.
