Georgia Lou Bailey, 84 of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, November 13th, 2024, at her residence. Mrs. Bailey was born on May 15th, 1940, in Limestone County, to Oscar and Iver Willard Kimbrough.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by her daughters Pat Slaton, Wanda McBrayer (Rhett), and Leigh Ann Romine; grandson Layton Romine; granddaughter Anna Romine; sisters Rosa Alexander and Donnie Putman; brother Jerry Kimbrough; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband Hansel Slaton; 2nd husband Leander “Mutt” Bailey; and son-in-law Byron Romine.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bailey will be Friday, November 15th, 2024, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00-1:45pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
