Mrs. Georgia E. Smith, Age 86, of Whiteville, TN, formerly of Bolivar

The widow of Johnnie W. Smith, who died on October 18, 1983, she worked as a psychiatric technician at Western Mental Health Institute for 38 years. She was born in Hornsby, Tennessee, daughter of the late Ernest Scott Howell and Odie Lee Coburn and lived in Hardeman County most of her life. She loved to crochet and quilt and can produce. Mrs. Smith was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Kelley of Whiteville; four sisters, Louise Doyle of Bolivar; Sue of Memphis and Dean Pipkin of Memphis, and Margaret Brumbelow of Middleton; a brother, Bill Howell of Middleton; four grandchildren, Rita Hooper, Scott Kelley, Lorrie Stamey and Minday Scott and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, whom she married on February 14, 1958 and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Ray Howell and a brother, Ernest Howell. The family requests memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
