Born on January 18, 1929, in Deirmimas, Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Milhem Abdallah and Naime Kassouf. Georgette’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering faith.

Family was everything to Georgette. She dedicated her life to caring for her loved ones, embodying the values of selflessness and compassion. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and nourishment, where she lovingly prepared traditional Lebanese dishes like Tabouli and Raw Kibbe, infusing every meal with love.

Georgette found joy in simple pleasures – dancing, tending to her garden, and sharing laughter with those around her. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she played a pivotal role in shaping their lives, serving as a source of wisdom, guidance, and unconditional love.

As the matriarch of her family, Georgette was the glue that held everyone together. Her unwavering devotion to her faith was evident in her daily ritual of gathering her loved ones for prayer at 4:00 p.m., a reminder that spiritual connection was the cornerstone of their bond.

Georgette Milad Georges leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. As her family grieves her loss, they take solace in the cherished memories and the profound impact she had on their lives. Rest in peace, dear Georgette, knowing that your love will continue to guide and inspire generations to come.

Georgette is survived by her children: Daoud (Therese) Gerges, Naji (Marilia) Gerges, and Latifeh Gerges; grandchildren: Danyelle Gerges, Eliane Wanger, Christopher Gerges, Shirley Gerges, Elie Gerges, Michael Gerges, and Gabriel Gerges; great-grandchildren: Andreas, Eva, Gabrielle, Julian, Dominic, and Camille; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews and more family than can be named. Georgette is preceded in death by her husband Milad Georges, son Dakhil (Marie-Antoinette) Gerges, and siblings, Abe, Sara, Juliette, and Marta.

A Funeral Mass to honor Georgette’s life is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Columbia, TN with Father Dan Rehill officiating. There is a visitation period from 10:00 a.m. until just before service time. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be: Naji, Christopher, Michael, Gabriel, Elie Gerges, and Gene McShane.

Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
