George William “Bill” Neal, II died February 28, 2024. He was born in Danville, VA on July 4, 1959, a son of George William Neal and Jane Flynn Neal. He is survived by his father, George William Neal; a stepsister, Elizabeth Lowry Conklin; and a stepbrother, John “Jack” Rand Lowry. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Flynn Neal, brother, James Lynnwood Neal, and stepbrother, Robert “Bud” Lowry.
George graduated from Huntsville High School and from Athens State University. For several years, he taught racquetball at UAH and was an excellent player, participating in many regional tournaments. He was an avid University of Alabama fan, having once shaken hands with coach “Bear” Bryant.
A private graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery at a later date.
