George Westley Garner, age 82 of Albertville passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 at his home.
His funeral service will be at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, February 1, 2022 at Boaz Carr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Douglas Cemetery. Rev. Mark Jones, Rev. James Jones and Rev. Willis Langston will officiate. Pallbearers will be Chris Garner, Dakota Garner, Alex Spivey, Randall Jones, Roy Wayne Estes and Darrell Jones. Dennis Hilburn will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 8 Monday evening.
Mr. Garner is survived by his wife of 63 years; Emmalene Garner, son, George Garner (Regina) of Albertville, daughter; Barbara Cuzzort (Don) of Villa Rica, Ga., four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, sister; Peggy Wilson of Florida and brothers; James Evans Jr., of Gadsden and John Garner of South Carolina.
He is preceded in death by his daughter; Kathy Lynn Garner, mother; Flora Mae Evans, step-father; James E. Evans and sister; Betty Bryant.
