George Wayne Miller, age 76 of Cowan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 7, 2024. Wayne was born on March 1, 1948, in Cowan, to the late Horton and Velma Grace (Clark) Miller. Wayne married the love of his life Faye, whom he was married to for over fifty- nine years and brought five children into the world; George, Earl, Gary, Brenda and Marshia. In his younger years, Wayne worked on a dairy farm before entering the funeral service industry. He retired after thirty plus years of service with Doric of Tennessee, where he was a service technician and vault finisher. Wayne will be remembered by his family as a hard-working man. In the eyes of his family, he was the man, the myth and the legend. In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his wife, Faye Elliott Miller; grandson, Corey Matthews; brothers, Billy Miller, Dinky Miller, and Larry Miller. Wayne is survived by his sons, George Miller of Cowan, Earl Miller of Decherd, and Gary (Hilary) Miller of Winchester; daughters, Brenda (Roger) Rollings of Lexie Crossroads, Marshia (David) Williams of Winchester; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Miller of Hartford City, IN; sisters, Linda (Howard) Elliott of Winchester; Janet (Thomas) Harding and Debbie Hall both of Cowan. Visitation will held on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Watson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 4:00pm from the chapel of Watson Funeral Home with Larry Timbs officiating. Interment will follow in Watson Memorial Park.
