George W. Prowell, age 69, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 1:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Gilmer Addition of Sulligent City Cemetery. Elder Steve Gunter to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 12:00pm until 1:00pm.

George was born on January 18, 1955 in Columbus, Mississippi to the late Charlie Prowell, Jr. and the late Gladys Perkins Prowell. He previously worked at Hyster-Yale, Alan White, and Gateway Homes in Guin, AL. George is most well known for his impeccable work at detailing cars, which he enjoyed very much and his excellent service and relationships with his customers will always be remembered. He also really liked music and in his early years he was a DJ, where he was named, “Ice Cube”, because he was the Coldest Jock on the Block. George absolutely loved his family, especially getting to spend time with them and other friends outside grilling and playing cards. He was a member of Moscow Holy City Church in Sulligent, AL. George’s charismatic personality, smiling face, and caring heart for others, will always be cherished and greatly missed by all those who loved and knew him.
