Sargent George W. Harris, Retired, 77 of Guntersville died Saturday March 5, 2022 in Shepherd’s Cove Hospice Facility, Albertville.
Mr. Harris was born in Blount County, Alabama April 22, 1944, the son of Columbus “Lum” Harris and Cora Lee Bailey Harris. He was married to the late Kathy Poole Harris who preceded him in death December 11, 2020.George served for many years with Honor and Courage in the United States Army, rising to the rank of Sergent before his retirement.
He is survived by a Son: Richard Harris (Jamie Kelly); three Daughters: Debra Harris, Alisha Teague and Heather Teague; eight Grandchildren, five Great Grandchildren; a Sister: Mary Gene Martin, several other Family Members, his Church Family (Clear Springs Baptist Church) and Many Dear Friends.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday March 9, 2022 at Gober Funeral Chapel, Brother Danny Hood, officiating. Burial will be in Clear Springs, Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Randy Gambrell, Trevor Harris, Jamie Kelly, Ryan Lang, Wanda J. Martin and Issac Smith.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday March 8, 2022 at Gober Funeral Chapel.
