George Russell Kennamore, 86, Leighton, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. A memorial visitation will be Saturday, March 16, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A graveside service will follow at Glendale Cemetery, beginning at 1:30 p.m., with Harlon Hallmark officiating.
George was a machinist with TVA for twenty-six years before retiring, and a member of Machinist Local 65. He was a member of the Cattlemen’s Association and the Alabama Farmer Federation. George was preceded in death by his son, Roland Kennamore; granddaughter, Danielle Alexander; parents, Julius Jordan and Mary Ann Kennamore; and nine siblings.
George is survived by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Evelyn Webb Kennamore; children, Sherry Baird (Jim), Doy Kennamore (Darlene), Sheila Weaver (Marc), and Jackie Kennamore (Stacy); special brother, John Ray Kennamore (Chris); thirteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
