George “Rich” Quinton, 77, lifetime resident of Memphis, TN, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at his daughter’s residence in Tippah County following a brief illness.
A Mass honoring the life of Mr. Quinton will be held Friday, April 14, 2023, at Holy Rosery Catholic Church in Memphis with Monsignor Victor officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, April 13, 2023, at 6PM with the Rosery ceremony starting at 7PM.  Burial will follow in Dumas Cemetery.
Mr. Quinton was born February 14, 1946, in Memphis, TN, to the late George and Dorothy O’Brien Quinton.  He was a graduate of Treadwell High School and furthered his education at Memphis State University.  He worked in retail most of his life for Central Hardware, Radio Shack, Lowes and Counterfitters just to name a few.  Mr. Quinton was also in a full-time band called “The Group” where he played the organ professionally.
A devout Deacon at Holy Rosery Catholic Church, Mr. Quintons faith carried him throughout his life.  He was known to be loyal by fault to his children, grandchildren and all the ones he had the pleasure of working with.  A loving father and grandfather, he will be missed by all that knew and loved him.  Some of his past times included traveling to the Smokey Mountains, music, photography, watching movies and being an everyday jokester.
Those left to cherish his memories include one daughter, Stephanie Sonwineski () of Dumas, one son, Daniel Quinton of Ashland, two brothers, Ed Quinton (Diana) of Collierville, Everette Quinton (Karen) of Munford, TN, two grandchildren, Estelle Sonwineski and Lee Sonwineski (Eden), five great grandchildren, Jude, Aden, Lea and Chloe Sonwineski and Ryan Garlock.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Shayne Quinton and two grandchildren Cody and Trey Sonwineski.
